New Turn

Just when you think you have it figured out, life throws you a curve. Woke up to an email saying that my apt building in Paris is being painted and the terrace will be inaccessible. Of course, aside from location, internet etc, I picked this spot for the terrace. My vision is sitting with my cafe au lait and fresh croissant on my terrace welcoming the day.

I was sad and disillusioned. Miss Becca jumped in to action.

She sent bunches of emails requests until she found what she thought might be perfect. The only hitch, the landlord only rents for one week at a time. But being the girl that she is, Becca convinced Catherine to rent to her momma. By the end of the emails, the woman wanted to cook me dinner in her home and offered me use of any of her 3 apts. Way to go Becca, great cheerleader to her momma.

So now I have a new place and as Catherine says, welcome to her family & community. Catherine is a famous doctor, published author, my age, and seems so nice. The location is now on the other side of the Seine, very close to St. germaine du pres.. This is cool as this is more artistic and young.

My location is different, right in between the hospitals and university, with plenty of everything around. It is all very interesting for a girl who likes everything just so, likes to envision well in advance and is not so good anymore with shake ups in whats known.

I am so excited, time is drawing near. Did I mention that Becca saved me lots of money, enough money to pay for my tours... which are, so far,

Day trip to London on Eurostar
Verailles
Mums & Moet Chandon
Moulin Rouge for Dinner Theater - oh those Can Can Girls!!

Before Paris

I am very excited to go to Paris. This is a dream of a lifetime and I am glad I planned it last year or I might not be going. I have my free ticket, lots of work miles. I have mon petit apartement reserved and waiting, plenty of cute clothes, tour books and I have been brushing up on my french every day.

Right now, I am attending to every detail. One of the important things is keeping in touch. I need physical street address to debinor@comcast.net if you want to receive some tres jolies postcards. Also, trying to get the blog to the people who want it, so all can follow my travels.

Last but not least, will post here or in a note.. my question to everyone, if you had one day in Paris, what would you do. Don't be shy - my answer would be - eat to much and wander.
